In perhaps the most meaningless statistical notation ever, someone — either the Fox announcers or the idiot Chronicle writers — noted that Barry Bonds has hit more home runs against the A’s than any other American League team. Left unsaid was the fact that the Giants have played the A’s every year in interleague play — six games a year for the past few season — which might explain why he’s hit so many home runs against Oakland. Instead, the implication was that Bonds owns A’s pitchers, which is not necessarily the case.
It’s getting so that I have to watch baseball with the sound off now.
