Idiots Write About Sports

I am tired of talking about the Giants. The terrible, terrible Giants — made even more terrible by their steadfast acceptance of how bad they are. Alou, who keeps insisting on giving Neifi Perez at-bats. Sabean, who acquired three crappy right fielders over the offseason. Enough.

This post will not be about them. No, instead this post will celebrate the greatness of men named Mandel and Maisel, respectively.

Mr. Maisel says Cal has the #12 college football team in the country after spring practices. Mr. Mandel disagrees, ranking Cal at #15.

I suppose a lot of this has to do with Cal’s beating USC last year. (Did anyone else do that? I don’t recall.) And then there’s how they beat Virginia Tech in the Insight bowl last December.

So with the Giants sucking, I have nothing else to turn to. The mighty golden bear is watching from above… and counting the days until the annual Blue-Gold scrimmage.
