ESPN’s Ivan Maisel is reporting that Cal has signed Jeff Tedford to a new “five-year” (ho, ho) contract that guarantees him $1.5 million per year, with additional incentives.
This year Tedford’s base was $800K, but with incentives he’ll make more like $1.1M.
Presumably raises for the assistants are also in the deal. No word on what clauses regarding stadium/facilities development are in there, but I’d bet you there are some. Surely more details will leak into a Chronicle article bylined (or “contributed to”) by Glenn Dickey.
(This morning’s Chron mentioned [in the main section!] that “Cal hopes to announce an agreement with Tedford on a new five-year contract in the next 10 days,” according to “sources close to the athletic department.” I immediately looked at the story’s tagline to see if there was Dickey participation, and indeed there was — he “contributed” to the article by fellow deposed columnist, Tom FitzGerald.)
UPDATE: Here’s the official release.

For the record, Jason and I never read each other's posts.
At least I posted the story in the right category, Phil... our shiny new Cal Football category!
We've got a Cal Football category now? Wow... change is the watchword here at the Idiot Sports Weblog.
