The Dodgers have completed their ill-advised Ross Porter Replacement Plan, adding ex-Dodger Al Downing and current halfwit Steve Lyons to the booth where one or the other will join Charley Steiner in the booth for the occasional Vin-free broadcast.
“What do you think, Sirs?”

“It stinks!”
What does not stink, however, is this excellent song parody from 6-4-2.

Referenced by Braves Journal, in the entry I'm glad we're not them:
Idiots Write About Sports - Deep Hurting Al Downing sighting!......
Downing did the Braves on Fox SportsSouth for a year. How bad was he? I was glad when they hired Tom Paciorek. The only good part of the Downing experience was Bob Rathbun taunting him about 715, and you won't even get that.
Gawrsh, thanks for the nice words. It was only after I wrote it that I realized, hey, evil Frank. Works on two levels.
We had Lyons doing Diamondbacks games a couple of years back. The worst part? He was an improvement over the guy he replaced. I've been grateful to have Mark Grace spending his time in the booth while he waits for the club to make him a manager. He might not be the best--but he's not Lyons.
