One of ESPN’s greatest contributions to sports broadcasting in recent years marks its return today: televised spring training games. The Mets! The Nats! This time, it doesn’t involve the Expos!
Yeah, the games don’t count, and the superstars will be gone by the third inning, but it’s baseball, it’s on television, and it’s the best sign that I can think of that winter’s just about done. Other than the fact I’m wearing shorts today — which nobody wants to see, frankly.
