Ballparks From Space

Posted by Jason Snell at 02:26 PM in Baseball

No, this is not going to be an entry about the delightful finals of this year’s Xxyxxl Stix series between Omicron Seti V and the Horsehead Nebula, which went down to the final glerg.

Instead, this is an entry about Google Maps, which yesterday rolled out an exciting new feature that overlays satellite imagery over the existing Google Maps service.

Presented forthwith, the National League:

WestCentralEast
Bank One Ballpark
Coors Field
Dodger Stadium
Petco Park
SBC Park

Busch Stadium
Great American Ballpark
Miller Park
Minute Maid Park
PNC Park
Wrigley Field
Citizens Bank Park
Pro Player Stadium
RFK Stadium
Shea Stadium
Turner Field

[Originally compiled by Chris Espinosa. Hat tip: Marshall Clow.]

(Update: You can get AL links as well, at Catfish Stew.)

We would be remiss if we did not point out that Catfish Stew has links to the American League pictures as well -- http://catfishstew.baseballtoaster.com/archives/161296.html

If you look very closely at the shot of SBC and squint a little, you can see Barry scowling at the camera out in left.

And Petco is, of course, depicted during construction. I hear it's nicer now.

Too bad, the autocross trails at Qualcomm look cool from space.
