There is perhaps no more disconcerting feeling than flipping on the telecast of the team whom you follow in lieu of having any productive or interesting hobbies and laying eyes on guy in your team’s uniform on the pitching mound that you had no idea even was in your organization.
Ryan Glynn pitches for Oakland? Really? Since when? Is this the same Ryan Glynn who used to pitch for Texas? What’s he doing with us? How’d he wind up here? Say… did we trade Mulder and Hudson at some point?
Apparently, Ryan Glynn got called up to Oakland sometime between when I put the lamb chops under the broiler and when I opened the rioja to let it breathe a little. And now, he’s starting against the Blue Jays.
I feel like such a fraudulent fan right now.
