Wow.

Night games suck.

But what a great comeback, when all seemed lost.

Sunday morning update: Brought the camera with the big lens last night. Took a bunch of pictures. You can see the slideshow on flickr. I’ll post them here when I’m more fully conscious.

Why do night games suck? Just because it was cold? Other than the fact that I can't take my two boys to the games, I kind of like the night games.

For those of us who take BART -- the public transit service that encourages to ride trains to the game but then refuses to extend the frequency of service, particularly late on a Saturday night -- the suckitude of night games is not even a matter of reasonable debate. It took me 90 minutes to get from Memorial Stadium to my home in Alameda largely because BART scales back train service to every 20 minutes on the Richmond-Fremont line. (That's better than the Richmond-SF line which has no direct service after 6 p.m. on weekends.)

And since last night's game dragged well past the three-hour mark, had it gone into regulation, BART-riding patrons would have had to walk out en masse if they had any hopes of reaching the station before it shuts its doors at midnight.

Night games at Berkeley do, indeed, suck.
