Idiots Write About Sports

I’m a Giants fan, but even I am a bit skeptical about the team’s use of the Disabled List this season. Every time someone has to come off the DL, someone else seems to conveniently go back on it. Now it’s Benard and Rodriguez, but just about everyone has come and gone on the DL at some point this year.

Are the Giants abusing the DL system? Hard to say. Do they put players on the DL with minor injuries in order to salt them away without sending people down or releasing them? Almost certainly.

I’m not sure how this is different from past seasons, but it certainly smells fishy.
