Boo Hoo - Rastros Fear Torches

Posted by Jason Snell at 03:51 PM in Baseball, The Giants

William C. Rhoden of the New York Times has it exactly right:

“Mays has stature. If he wants to meet Bonds at home plate, let him. If he wants to run around the bases with Bonds, let him. If Willie Mays wants to have dinner on home plate, the Astros should volunteer to serve.”

Nobody wants to see a big dog and pony show on their home turf. But as Rhoden points out, this is not a Giants accomplishment, but a Major League Baseball one. Bonds. Mays. United at 660 home runs. You don’t like it? Don’t let Barry homer. “Easier said than done,” as Rhoden says.
