National League
Dodgers-Cardinals: The Cardinals are scuffling after winning 105 games. The Dodgers scuffled into the playoffs after blowing a big lead and then exerting supreme effort in a series of comeback wins, but they’ve got momentum. I believe the Cardinals are a good team. I think the Dodgers are weak and lucky to be in the playoffs (but hey, someone had to make it). Cards sweep.
Braves-Astros: Never, ever count out the Braves. Everyone did this year, and what did they do? Blow away their division. Meanwhile, the Astros fired their manager, decided not to trade away all their players, and began a remarkable comeback. Never, ever, ever count out the Braves…. but the Astros have that Marlins vibe about them. Astros in five.
American League
Yankess-Twins: This is not your usual Yankee team. They’re vulnerable. Their pitching is questionable. Meanwhile, the Twins are really a cohesive unit. I know the payroll of the Yankees could buy the Twins’ franchise, lock, stock, and barrel, but the Twins are not going to shrink from their duty to dispatch the hated Yankees. Twins in four.
Angels-Red Sox: The Red Sox have it together. The Angels barely made it in. Far be it from me to bet against the Angels after what happened in 2002, but I think the Red Sox are going to prevail. Red Sox in five.
Championship Series
National League: Big mo beats big Albert. Houston in seven.
American League: Curses! Plucky Twins beaten by hot Sox. Boston in six.
World Series
The Bagwell Battle goes to the Astros, frustrating the Sox, in seven games. I’d pick the Sox here, but that would just be crazy.

Never, ever count out the Braves.
Sure, in the regular season. In the postseason, though, I think it's perfectly safe to count them out.
