We’re Number… Something

Posted by Jason Snell at 12:44 PM in Cal Football

It’s hard to believe it’s less than three weeks before Cal begins its spirited 2005 season with a bone-crushing matchup versus… Sacramento State.

Ahem.

Anyway, the previews are arriving and last year’s momentum, coupled with the sheer adoration for Jeff Tedford that exists in the media now, means Cal’s featured in numerous previews. Fox Sports (Did you know Fox Sports has a website? I wasn’t aware that the Fox Sports audience could read.) has a nice preview (hat tip: CalStuff). This week’s Sports Illustrated has Cal rated 17, which is nice.

In other news, Mack Brown told his fellow coaches to vote Cal 20th in the first USA Today poll. He told them to vote Texas first, too, but only two of them did what he asked. The nerve of some people.

From what I see, living in NC, Cal has some excellent young talent. I like being 19 in the polls. They won't see us coming....

Here is some shameless promotion, I have one of the rare "Only a Miracle" music boxes for sale on ebay. Did not need two of them. Proceeds should help pay for trip to this years Big Game. Go Bears...
