With Arizona’s choke-job against ASU completed, this means Cal’s most likely scenario is the Las Vegas Bowl on Dec. 22 versus BYU.
“We’re extremely grateful for and excited about the opportunity to participate in the 2005 Pioneer PureVision Las Vegas Bowl,” BYU Director of Athletics Tom Holmoe said.
Why did I just shiver?
(Update: Yes, the Insight Bowl has officially invited the Sun Devils, which means this year we will finally see the rematch of the 1978 Garden State Bowl — ASU versus Rutgers! And in the unlikely scenario that Oregon gets admitted to the BCS, Cal would play in the Sun Bowl.)

Mormons vs. Hippies... in Vegas... Sounds like a sitcom.
Holmoe!?! I totally forgot that he was at BYU. The only way to make it better would be for Gilby to be the head coach. Of course, they wouldn't be in the Las Vegas Bowl then, but I digress. Even without Gilby on the opposite sidelines, it'll be fun.
This is all of course assuming that the Pac-10 gets their usual BCS shaft again in 9 days. If Oregon can slip in there, we should get the Sun Bowl. I caught the 2nd half of the ASU vs. Arizona game and the announcers said that the Insight Bowl has promised ASU they'd pick them given the choice between them and Cal. Has anyone seen this in print?
But assuming that's the case, Vegas here I come! Are you guys going to go? I checked BYU's schedule and they don't look half bad this year. It should be a good game.
I think that it would be great if we play BYU in Las Vegas. I have been meaning to get back to Vegas for some time. If I can go to Vegas and see Cal play I might cry. Not to mention we can vanquish our old nemesis Holmoe again!
Things are looking up boys...
PLEASE LET OREGON GET SHAFTED SO WE CAN GO TO VEGAS! VIVA LAS VEGAS!
You'd think Vegas would love to have ASU and Phoenix Cal, but what do I know... I wish we'd finish with a better record in the pac10, that is for sure. 4-4 looks horrible when we share it with ASU and Stanford.
BYU or Rutgers, who cares? I guess I'd rather play a team I've actually seen on TV playing football.
The big issue is why does the Pac10 get to play all these losers in our bowl games? I guess this is the price for being on FSN.
