I hate to tell you people that I told you so. But I told you so.
Me, I blame Erica Lucero. I only hope she can live with her shame.
Update: To anyone who can get me one of those USC three-peat T-shirts before they’re either destroyed or shipped off to the third world, a generous donation to the charity of your choosing awaits.
Update 2: Yeah, it’s amusing to me that USC lost and all, but really, I’m a little disappointed that it didn’t happen in the Fresno State game. Because if that would have gone down, folks would be treating me like that kid in that Twilight Zone episode. And that’s a good thing.
Update 3: Bill Plaschke on suicide watch. Skip Bayless made to look like more of a blithering know-nothing ass than usual. Truly, this has been the day I settle all family business.

I sure hope the next time the Trojans make the trek to Berkeley they won't be so damn cocky.
Anybody down to make a 24 hour trip to see Cal/USC in LA next year?
From Erica's latest column:
"The faith of the other group is far more reasonable, based on the notion that ultimately, USC's excellence will come shining through. As a Trojan fan and student, along with many others, I place my faith in that tradition. And I know that whatever happens Wednesday, whether we win or lose, it will be but a moment in a larger, timeless legacy."
Yay whammy!
Phil, I insist that you link to Lucero's next column.
I hope the next column includes an apology, mtvcdm. If it does, maybe I'll let USC win a game again.
...and all was right with the world.

Yes, the whiny post-game proclamation of Leinart after the game -- that "We still think we're a better football team, they just made the plays" -- was truly like the voice of angels to these jaded ears.
Did you know that kid from the Twilight Zone episode grew up to play Lennier on Babylon 5?
Oh God, issue the nerd alert.
Sorry guys.
Yes, but did YOU know that he's also half of novelty recording artist Barnes & Barnes, creators of the classic Dr. Demento hit "Fish Heads"?
But perhaps I've said too much.
That was one heck of a game. Enough to rouse me from my cold-addled state.
Wow, lots of bitter PAC-10 fans in these parts, huh? Kind of sad, really. I have no love for the arrogance of USC fans--who often spend their time trashing the character of any player who doesn't commit to play for the Trojans--but seeing any conference team do well is a Good Thing in my eyes.
That said, they really need to do something about that defense. That was really pathetic for a Dynasty.
