Philip Michaels? Didn’t He Go into Hiding or Something?

How not to run a successful sports blog in two easy steps.

1) Make sure that the the biggest trade show in your particular industry is held right after New Year’s, thus knocking you out of commission for a few weeks.

2) While you are enjoying a lovely Christmas-time trip to Central Florida with your wife, make sure that a pipe bursts in your bathroom, causing anywhere between two to 24 hours worth of water damage on the house you sunk a significant portion of your net worth into not four months earlier.

Because that’ll eat up a lot of your free time.

How much have my contributions around here dropped off? Jason is now making back-to-back posts. Jason! Talk about indignities…

Things have gotten so sparse around here that the most significant writing I’ve done about the A’s lately — besides a comment to this entry at Will Carroll’s blog — has been at Macworld. That just ain’t right.

Well, the wife and I just got back from spending 10 days in an ExtendedStay hotel while work crews putting the finishing touches on replacing our floor, meaning a large chunk of the things that have been eating up all my free time have been ticked off on the ol’ to-do list. And that means, for good or for ill, more time to post assorted idiocies ‘round these parts.

At least, there will be more time right after I finish staring at my good-as-new floorboards. Until then, please enjoy these three Olympic-themed posts from TeeVee.
