Macha: Why Can’t We Be Friends?

Posted by Philip Michaels at 11:15 AM in The Athletics

I didn’t cast the role of Ken Macha in my silly little John Lackey movie the other day. But based on his comments in the paper the other day, I think I have just the person in mind.

Sez Macha:

“We have had some very intense games against them the last two years, a lot of one-run games, well-played, played the right away,” Macha said. “I respect the Angels and I hope they respect us and the way we play the game.

“It was an unfortunate incident and I hope it falls into the category of whatever happened shouldn’t have and we get back to playing intense, hard-fought baseball on the field.”

Macha said he has no plans to seek out Angels manager Mike Scioscia.

“I have no problem with Mike and he has no problem with me,” Macha said.

Well, naturally, you wouldn’t want to make Mike Scioscia angry. Get on that guy’s bad side, and Scioscia’s going to spend the rest of the season eating you for lunch.

I mean that literally, by the way.

Anyhow, if we ever have to cast the Ken Macha role, here’s who I’d go with…
