Regrettable Free-Agent Signing Update

From Steve Kroner’s — Kroner? Where’s Slusser? — A’s Notebook in today’s Chronicle:
Esteban Loaiza (strained trapezius muscle) threw 45 pitches in a simulated game Friday afternoon. “I felt fine, Loaiza said. “… I felt my arm angle was better, I felt my velocity was better.”
The A’s lost the simulated game 12-1.
