A Half Season of Dominance

Posted by Philip Michaels at 08:30 AM in Baseball Planet

Woke up this morning, fired up the ol’ InterWeb, and did a quick scan of the news headlines, favored blogs, and other sites that I visit first thing in the a.m. Which is when I discovered that I have vaulted into first place in not just one, but both of the fantasy baeball leagues I participate in. Truly, my dynastic run over fake sports leagues that don’t matter has begun with a vengeance.

Feast your peepers on these standings.

That’s the league where Jason and I co-operate a team. (Or more accurately, I make the day-to-day decisions and Jason cashes his share of the winners’ checks.) Notice the paucity of roster moves made by the vanunted San Francisco Idiots of Alameda juggernaut — that’s superior preseason roster construction, baby. And I can assure you, it’s more of the same in the other league that I participate in without any help from the Snell peanut gallery, thank you very much.

There are so many people to thank — the players, of course. Couldn’t have done it without them. The team of experts at Baseball Prospectus gave me the tools for evaluating players. My parents were kind enough to pool up all those superior genes just for me. And… um… well, I’m sure there was a teacher or someone who gave me good advice once. Whoever they were, they are the wind beneath my wings. Or something along those lines.

What? You mean there’s a whole ‘nother half-of-a-season to play? Aw, crap.

It’s all downhill from here.
