After the events of the past two days, I have begun to feel the same way about seeing the Arizona Diamondbacks in the Oakland Coliseum as Samuel L. Jackson feels about snakes on his plane.
I will be at the Coliseum Sunday, ending my self-imposed exile, for what figures to be a pip of a pitching duel. (Zito! Webb! This time it’s not at all personal!) Here’s hoping the A’s can muster a hit or two prior to the seventh inning.

I can't remember that last time the D'backs went into the 3rd game of a series with a chance to sweep. Sorry for your pain, but it's a damned fine feeling on this end!
The Webby-Zito game is certainly living up to its billing. We're currently sitting at 1-1, 2 out in the top of the 7th. Here's to hoping our boy can become a 9-game winner and secure the sweep. June was a long month in Arizona.
Good luck to the A's...starting tomorrow.
Follow-up comment:
I finally had my first moment of anger with Eric Byrnes in the 8th inning. One out, two guys on, 2-0 count. He swings at a pitch out of the zone and hits into the double play. Throwing his helmet afterwards doesn't help. It takes a lot to make Thom Brennaman sound exasperated with an Arizona player (he's a total company guy), but even he couldn't keep the irritation out of his voice.
Still, considering the screw-ups the Snakes have committed over the past month, Eric's contribution was pretty low on the bonehead meter.
