Weird game. No TV, just the dulcet sounds of Joe Starkey on the radio. Starkey’s voice is comforting, but he still has the annoying habit of not making it clear where any player is on the field for long stretches of a play call.
Anyway, this game was never in doubt. Cal scored first — a first for this season! — and while the defense wasn’t going to win any awards, it bent and didn’t break. Three TDs for Lynch, including two in the air from Longshore. Four more passing TDs for Longshore.
The offensive highlight for OSU, meanwhile, was probably Alexis Serna’s awe-inspiring 58-yard field goal, which cut the Cal lead to 31-3. Oh, dagger through the heart!
I look forward to the game video highlights, once they’re shipped down the coast by tramp steamer and re-enacted by trained thespians at my local nickelodeon.

No. 11 Oregon at No. 16 California, primetime on broadcast television...this is officially a big game. I can't wait (Surprisingly, this game has overshadowed the MLB Playoffs in my mind, which is no easy task)
I'll be there. Phil will be there. My wife and 2-year-old son will be there.
I will of course be there +1 and more than a little bit of smuggled booze.
I hope your son is LOUD!
Go Bears!
By the way, I heard the Wazzu game isn't going to be televised, just like OSU. What is going on here? Does USC have any untelevised games? Oregon? Heck, ASU? Why do the Pac-10 media guys hate Cal so much? We can't get any national respect if we're not on TV. I mean, come on, they had Stanford vs. UCLA (i.e. Dumb and Dumber) on TV even! Awesome that the only away games on TV are the one we got blown out at and the one where we face the (supposedly) Pac-10 #1 team. Lame.
Well get used to it my dear Michael. As you and I both know from previous conversation, Cal football, iz a hard knock life for us…
I don't think you can really blame the media for the untelevised Wazzou game. Do they even have TV cameras in Pullman?
